The art of gift giving fulfills a part of me that I can’t quite put my finger on. The audible gasp of excitement that comes after a dear friend rips away tissue paper practically gives me the ability to fly. Maybe it’s my natural urge to nurture and provide. Maybe it’s the not-so-everyday specialness that comes with festivity. Maybe it’s the fact that I am deeply materialistic and can justify my spending habits when it isn’t for myself.
Regardless of the reason, there is nothing like watching someone open a shiny bag full of goodies specially crafted for them. With Christmas around the corner, I’ve crafted six gift guides to take away some of the heavy lifting of spoiling the special people in your life. Cheers to making the people around us feel seen, heard, and positively cherished!
A Gift Guide For Him
- Complementary Flannel Shirt and Sock Set
This Legendary Whitetails flannel shirt is an elevated take on the lumberjack look. Your man does not have to sacrifice comfort for style with this button-down paired with dress socks from Ralph Lauren. Both items can be found on Amazon in a range of colors that complement each other even though they aren’t technically a set!
- Draft Pour Beer Dispenser
If your partner is anything like mine, there’s nothing that hits the spot more than finding his favorite beer on draft (outside of maybe a special on a good Kentucky bourbon). Make any can of beer the perfect pour with this Draft Pour Beer Dispenser. It has a sleek look that won’t be an eye sore on your countertop and will make any game day that much more special.
- Mahogany Teakwood Candle
This has to be one of my husband’s favorite scents. Ian has what I call a “super-sniffer”, and he is incredibly sensitive to bold scents like vanilla, peppermint, and artificial fruit. This candle, however, emits a soft, woodsy musk that is powerful enough to fill a room without overwhelming it. Mahogany Teakwood smells like what I imagine stepping into the Narnia wardrobe would be like and is perfect for a cozy bedroom.
- Hanging Leather Toiletry Bag
This is a very practical gift out of which any man would get so much use. It has four compartments that unfold and can be hung up for convenient access making it perfect for traveling. Its leather, water-resistant material will ensure its structure is maintained over time. No more loose pocket-sized toiletries or lost razor heads at the bottom of a duffle bag. Organization has never been so manly!
- Bruno Marc Monk Strap Dress Loafer
Tired of the same old oxford you see every man wear to any formal event? Add some diversity to his wardrobe with this Monk Strap Dress Loafer from Bruno Marc on Amazon. This is the very pair my husband wore on our wedding day and, man, did he look amazing! It is to be noted that is a budget-friendly loafer made of a synthetic leather which is not as sturdy as a true leather; however, it is perfect for special events rather than everyday wear.
- Leather Travel Briefcase
My brother-in-law got a new job last year and is absolutely thriving. I’d like to think it is because of this briefcase we got him right when he first started. Gage’s work has him traveling almost every day and he needed a professional bag that could hold his laptop, contracts, and other various sales materials but looked better than a backpack. Enter this stunning leather travel briefcase that he has to this day!
- 8-Slot Watch Box
Men have the misfortune of not having nearly as many opportunities to accessorize as women do. Give him the opportunity to celebrate the accessories he does have with this 8-slot watch box with velvet lining that holds not only watches but watch straps, tie clips, rings, and so much more. This is another practical gift for less than $50 on Amazon!
- Indoor Moccasins
As we approach our thirties, my husband and I are finding out that walking around the house for hours on end without some sort of slipper is no longer an option. To keep that plantar fasciitis at bay, give him the gift of comfort and joy with these fluffy moccasins that are machine-washable and have a hard sole that guarantee needed support.
- Glencairn Whisky Glasses
Whether your guy is a long-time whiskey aficionado or just figuring out the difference between “whiskey” and “whisky”, a pair of Glencairn glasses is the perfect way to show you care about the craft. Here are a few things to remember if you really want to impress him:
1) The biggest benefit of the Glencairn is that alcohol is heavier than air, so its bulb keeps the harsher elements of alcohol (i.e., that ethanol burn) at the bottom and funnels the nicer smells right to the nose.
2) The glass helps catch light so you can better see the color differences compared to a normal glass.
3) It is made for exactly 1.5 fl oz pours. If you tilt the glass on its side, the liquid will go right to the lip without spilling making for a great party trick.
The Glencairn glass brings a lot of sophistication when sipping, and is a great addition for him under the tree!
- Hair Daddy Styling Clay
Hair Daddy Styling Clay is a fun stocking stuffer for the modern man. A little goes a long way with this product and can be used on fine hair and coarse hair alike. It is unscented and drys matte, so do not be alarmed by its bright white color. Not to mention the brand name is absolutely adorable.
Cheers!
